"Right in The Middle of Her Forehead"

A series of work that displays my personal experiences growing up with curly hair in a prominently white community. I share my journey of learning to embracing my curly hair. I pay tribute to the people that have taught me to embrace the beauty of curly hair and the Black Identity, through the assortment of  various materials capturing the texture of hair.

Material used: cardboard, "Jet" magazines prints, cotton, African print fabric,  acrylic paint, oil paint, chalk pastels, metal foil, yard, felt, vinyl records , tissue paper, sculpty, colored pencils, paint markers
