About

Hello, I’m Alaire! I am a multidisciplinary artist with a strong dance background. I graduated from Fordham/Ailey, Class of 2026, with a B.F.A. in Dance and B.A in Design and Technology. While studying dance, I have also explored various artistic projects at Fordham, including web design, stop-motion animation, costume design, and graphic design.

My art addresses genuine situation from a sprightly and curious perspective. I work with themes such as, existentialism and empathy. In, Out and Around, a multimedia dance-play and collaborative project, uses stop-motion animation and choreography to tell the story of five friends haunted by an strange entity. In addition to animation, I worked on posters and program design. I have also worked with Multimedia Artist Saya Woolfalk to choreograph and perform in her exhibit, Saya Woolfalk’s: Empathic Universe, at the Museum of Art and Design. During this process, I explored the power of choice and connectivity witin a collaborative process.

I explore motifs of inquisitiveness in my stop-motion animation Frankie, in which I use sculpting and layout design to create a short film that invites viewers to question how we communicate with the unknown. This them reoccurs in my choreography Metaphysical, which uses t-shirts I design to promote a similar experiences to the viewers.

While I pursue both design and dance independent of one another, my journeys in both remains interwoven. This is my main strength as an artist, as opportunities come forth, I am eager to pursue the opportunity to mend these communities.
